1832 25C XF40 Certification #16854930, PCGS #5351
Owner's Comments
Old and even gray toning with some luster clinging to and around the devices. Some dirt still adheres to the wings, shield, and lettering.
Expert Comments
All known 1832 Quarters were struck from a single new obverse die mated with two reverse dies left over from 1831. 1832 Browning-1 employed the Large Arrowheads reverse used previously for 1831 B-5 and B-6, and subsequently for 1833 B-1. 1832 B-2 paired the lone obverse with the Small Arrowheads reverse used previously for 1831 B-7. While examples of both 1832 die pairs are available in Mint State, higher grade examples will more likely be of the B-2 marriage.
