1804 1/2C C-9, Crosslet 4, Stems, BN VF35BN Certification #42394666, PCGS #35155

The 1804 C-9 Half Cent is one of five die varieties that make up the Crosslet 4, Stems major variety. Early die states have an unbroken obverse; in later states, a break forms over the RTY of LIBERTY, eventually ending in a full cud in that area.  Mint State examples are known, but none have been certified yet by PCGS.  This is a common variety which is best obtained from specialists in early American copper coins, who generally have a nice inventory of U.S. Half Cents.
