Quickfinder Notes: The 1803 Large Date is found on two die marriages, JR-2 and 3 (designations for the John Reich Collectors Society). It is easily distinguished by its size, being TALLER than the adjacent 1. On the Small 8 variety (JR-1), the 8 is much SHORTER than the adjacent 1. The Large 8 is far the more common, by about a factor of 15, than the Small 8.
