All 1802 Half Cents are overdates and all show a clear 0 undfer the 2.  The first 1802 Half Cents were made with a reverse of 1800 (single leaves at the top of both branches in the wreath); later versions had a new reverse that was used from 1802 through the end of the Draped Bust type in 1808 (two leaves at the top of the right branch of the wreath).  As a date, the 1802 is considered very scarce and no examples are known above Extremely Fine.  In fact, this is the only date of the Draped Bust type that is unknown in Mint State.  Some 1802 Half Cents were struck on cut-down, defective Large Cents and some show traces of the undertype from the host coin.
