Although its mintage is only about one-third less than that of the 1795, the 1796/5 is much more rare in any condition, particularly in the higher grades, AU or Unc. Most of the specimens I have seen were VF or EF and I have first hand knowledge of only 4-5 strictly uncirculated pieces. This date is underrated and underpriced in comparison to the much more common 1795 Small Eagle.
