About This Set: The development of this set has been artistic as much as historic. Few and far are the opportunities to obtain finest known Capped Lettered Edge Half Dollars with excellent eye appeal and stunning, original condition. This set is stands as testimony to the art of the early mint during a period when the Queen of American Coinage was the half dollar and not the dollar (which was discontinued in 1803 and not resurrected until 1836). The collection has been seeded with coins from top tier American Collections, including Eliasberg, Norweb, Pittman, Kaufman, Green/Newman, Pogue, Jung and Simpson. Look through and enjoy. I'd like to challenge the observer to review the 1807 and 1811 halves, both of which I believe are the silver equivalents of full red copper, with brilliant luster (undipped) and light silver-gray surfaces with unbroken patina. Love to hear if you have an upgrade for this set....
