During the 1870s, the fabled Carson City Mint struck minor coins (dimes, quarters and halves) and these coins today are among the most coveted of all late 19th century issues. Mintages were typically low, and nearly all saw heavy circulation. Mint state pieces are quite scarce, so even though some have completed the set, grades are typically in VF range. Despite this, few sets can compare with the romance and history of this short set.
