Overland Trail Collection

About This Set: The Overland Trail Collection of Dahlonega gold has grown from of a ten piece type set to nineteen coins. All coins, when possible, have been chosen for their beautiful original toning, eye appeal, as well as their rarity. Outstanding acquisitions include the 1838-D and 1847-D half eagles from the North Georgia Collection. Others include the rare 1854-D three dollar gold and 1839-D half eagles, as well as the exceedingly rare 1855-D Type II gold dollar. The rest of the collection includes a near uncirculated 1859-D type III gold dollar, an original, crusty, 1851-D and 1949-D type I gold dollars, and an 1839-D classic quarter eagle to round out the type set collection. Some of the coins reach into condition census as some of the best known. Other recent additions include a scarce AU53 1849-D quarter eagle with sensational antique gold and copper toning. Alse the 1852, 1853 and 1858 gold dollars have been acquired. More will be added when funds permit.
