Liberty Head $20 Gold 20th Century Set, Circulation Strikes (1900-1907) Current Finest List

Here at last is a nice gold set that can be completed by those of us with more modest means. After the early 1890s, production of Double Eagles accelerated with substantial production coming out of the San Francisco mint. None of these issues is scarce in circulated grades, but high end Mint State pieces from the Philadelphia mint are quite scarce, particularly the 1902 and 1905 which are both very rare above MS-63 and virtually unknown above MS-64. If you're willing to settle for set rating below MS-63, this set is quite completable. Achieving a rating above MS-64 has really only been achieved four times, and is quite an achievement.
