About This Set: I set out on this journey with the intention of buying the highest-graded coin of each date within my budget. But after the first three purchases, I decided I wanted coins that had a history, coins that were actually used in day-to-day commerce and not sitting in a mint bag in a government vault for almost a century. One can dream about the possibilities of who may have actually handled each coin, where each has traveled, what goods or services each has purchased.

I quickly realized that many of these coins were much tougher to find in my required XF45 circulated state than mint state coins. I definitely didn't want any grades above or below that range. I didn't want AU58's (even though they would have been more easily obtained), as my goal wasn't to sit at the top of the circulated registry pile.
