If the full run of "Walkers" (with the 1919s and 1921s) is a bit too intimidating and expensive, you can start with 1933. This is after the three year hiatus (1930-1932) and makes a logical starting point for the set. The 1933-S, 1941-S and some of the mintmarked dates in the mid-30s will still provide a modest challenge, but the set remains fairly easy to complete. Getting to the top spot in the Registry is not so easy though, as competition for the top grade pieces is intense, and mere fractions of a grade point separate the top 20 sets.
