Morgan Dollars Hit List 40 VAM Set, Circulation Strikes (1878-1921)

Due to the popularity of collecting Morgan Dollar varieties by their VAM (Van Allen - Mallis) numbers, numerous subsets of the nearly 2000 known varieties have been compiled. The latest, is Jeff Oxman's Hit List 40, published in 2009. Following the Top 100 and Hot 50 lists, the Hit List 40 includes a number of 1878 rarities. Like the other VAM lists, the keys will likely be familiar only to the specialists, but they include the 1921-D VAM 1X Doubled Cud, the 1878 8TF VAM 14.20 Boll Lines and the 1878 7TF R78 VAM 166 Tripled Eye. While not for everybody, this set will certainly elicit respect from the corps of dedicated Morgan Dollar variety collectors.
