The 1887 Mint Set, like the one that follows, is one of the few from this era that contains no major rarities. Naturally, in top grade, any of the coins can be costly, but in the middle MS grades, all should be easily obtainable for a reasonable price. The mintmarked Morgan Dollars are not common dates in MS65, but they are certainly no show-stoppers. The 1887 gold issues are mitigated by the fact that the 1887-P $20 and $5 are Proof-only issues, and consequently not a part of this set. The remaining gold coins include a few scarcer issues, but nothing rare.
