The 32 coin Eliasberg set of Matte and Roman finish 20th Century gold coins was one of the finest ever assembled. Nearly all of the coins were Gem quality and there were many that were PR66 or better. All of the coins were obtained by Louis Eliasberg when he purchased the fabulous John Clapp collection in 1942. Clapp had purchased the coins either directly from the Philadelphia Mint in the year of issue and at major auctions prior to 1921.
