Combining the Mint State and Proof issues, with major varieties, yields a massive 476-piece set (as of 2019) which only one collector in the registry so far has managed to complete. All of the coins discussed earlier are the major culprits standing in the way of completion; the 1867 with Rays Proof Shield Nickel topping the list of course along with the 1916/16 and the 1918/7-D circulation strikes. Despite these rather formidable hurdles, this set is a significant accomplishment to the true workhorse denomination of the late 19th and early 20th century.
