Kobe Bryant Tribute Collection Signature Set (2020-present)

In recognition of the 60th Anniversary of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (NMBHOF), the United States Mint launched a special commemorative coin program that included a special basketball theme on clad half dollar, silver dollar, and gold $5 coins. The year 2020 is when Kobe Bryant was to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but we will sadly never see that due to his tragic and untimely death on January 26, 2020. As a sign of respect to one of the greatest to play the game, many players signed 24 labels in purple ink symbolizing Bryant’s Lakers Jersey Number. We at PCGS could think of no better way to honor his legacy through this commemorative coin program. This PCGS Registry Set can only be completed by collecting one coin paired with its Signature Label from each signer who autographed one of 24 purple labels. The Ja Morant labels are particularly difficult to locate, as they are spread out across the Gold and Silver Commemorative coins.
