About This Set: The Lafayette Dollar is supposed to be the "King of the Commemoratives". The Sesqui and the Monroe are said to be "condition rarities". In the Carver-Washington sub-set we find five coins with lower populations than any of the rarities of the Silver Commemoratives Series, yet the entire C/W 12 coin set is valued at less that any of these single coins in MS-65. The 1951-P C/W, with an MS-65 population of 132, is by far the rarest coin in the series. Go figure?
