About This Set:
Born 18 May Charlton, Lucas, Iowa; married Lewis Adelbert Hadley (1870-1951) 9 February 1898; died 4 March Long Beach, Los Angeles, California.
The 1876 centennial Copper, Nickel, and Silver Mint Set is difficult for many of the issues, although the only real stopper is the Carson City twenty cent issue. It likely exists only because several Assay Commission members saved examples, as nearly all of the dozen or so known are Mint State or nearly so. The other silver issues are available in Mint State, although several of the higher denomination issues are scarce. The copper and nickel issues are available in higher grade Mint State. This is a popular year, of course, and completing the Mint Set is a real challenge because of the 1876-CC twenty cent piece.
