Just Having Fun with Roosies

About This Set: This is a series where the coins are often beautiful -- clean strikes and lovely toning. Add to the beauty of the coins a popular former President gracing the obverse, and low prices, and you have the reason why the Roosies have become a popular series to collect.

And indeed, collector interest has poured into this series. On the Registry Set Message Board I regularly find more threads about Roosies than any other single set.

And as the collectors have poured into the Roosies, the prices have climbed. As I write this in January, 2005, many of the pop top coins have doubled in cost or more.

But don't expect that to continue ad infinitum. The enormous flow of funds into Roosies will probably slow down and the populations of many pop tops will doubtlessly continue to grow.

So if you're collecting, I suggest you collect with an eye to the fun you're going to have, not the dollars you're going to make.
